Hi, I'm Kevin Pua
I was born in Manila, Philippines and I am the second of three children. More than three decades ago, our parents made the life-changing decision to move to Canada.
I am happily married to my beautiful wife of 12 years, Cristina and together we have a son, Phillip. He is our everything.
I've always been passionate about photography and having a growing family of my own made capturing moments that can never be repeated that much more important. I find it absolutely fascinating how looking at a photograph intently can transport me to another time and place. It brings back the sights, the sounds and the emotions of that given moment. It's one way to reflect on what's truly important in our lives.
This is what I want to share with the world. This is how Kevin Pua Photography was founded.

Fact 1
I was born in Manila, Philippines and when I was 10 years old, my family and I moved to Canada to begin a new life. I also met my future wife, Cristina in school a year later.

Fact 2
I love documentary / photojournalism style of photography as I can simply let life unfold and look for candid expressions, reactions and movement. I look for the "decisive moments" as I believe those create truly impactful images.

Fact 3
Just like with my photography, I enjoy the simpler things in life - being out and about with friends and family, good food (chicken wings), and nice views.

Fact 4
While I primarily shoot in colour, there's something about a black & white photo where the absence of colour allows us to focus on the shape of the light and to better connect with the mood and emotion of the photo.
